Autumn 2013
The first few days of September have flattered to deceive, but Friday 6th brought our first taste of autumn. Unfortunately this proved to be a precursor for the weekend, at least in North Wales for the Welsh Highland Railway's Superpower event. Ah well. The following week was little better, although it did brighten on Saturday afternoon in Lincolnshire for a brief look at the East Coast diversions. I spent the next week mainly taking the last pictures of the morning and evenings trains I had followed during the summer. The last weekend in September saw me down in South Wales and in Gloucestershire on account of a weekend with the in-laws in Wiltshire.
On Saturday 12th October I was out in fenland. Surprisingly, given the apocalyptic weather forecast on Friday evening, the sun came out, albeit momentarily.
Before flying to the USA on October 20th I took some pictures of MPVs on RHTT duties and the week after I got back some more pictures of a Broxbourne based RHTT in London and some pictures taken in the Surrey Hills on the Oxted Line.
In early November the East Grinstead line was graced with the new 377/6s being run in and on Saturday 9th November I caught GBRf's newly repainted and renamed 66718 along with two sand trains too and from Middleton Towers.
On November 14th I had a very enjoyable day out along the MML at Souldrop and Sharnbrook. On the 15th I worked from home and on the 16th was out and about in Hampshire and Oxfordshire.
A few pictures around London round off November and kick off December
On December 14th I spent an enjoyable morning on the Gospel Oak to Barking line.
December 20th and 21st saw me in East Anglia, I really love the fens on a cold winter's day.
