I have been interested in all things to do with railways for longer than I care to remember, in fact for longer than I actually CAN remember. I was pointing and gurgling at Northern Line tube trains from my pram before I was a year old, if the stories my mum used to tell are true. In the picture above my mum and I and a family friend are at Marylebone en-route to Nottingham, my dad took the picture before seeing us off. I guess it was some time in the late 1950s.
The rest of the pictures on the site were taken in the past 30 years or so, and represent both the modern and the heritage scene in Britain and abroad. In terms of subjects I suppose I focus mainly on freight and I really enjoy trains which runs on a gauge narrower than four feet eight and a half inches. Put the two together and, for me, it's an irresistible combination.
I hope that you find something of interest among the galleries on the site, just press Browse or use one of the Keywords and see where the fancy takes you. Please feel free to leave any comments, I am always learning.
